Gordon Ramsay’s Cocktail Lounge Bar and Restaurant in Puerto Colon, Tenerife isn’t living up to its name. With a name like that, you couldn’t be blamed for believing the restaurant is in some way owned, or at least endorsed by the celebrity TV chef. In fact, Gordon Ramsay claims there is no connection to his Michelin-starred London, New York, or Tokyo restaurants and is suing the resort bar for infringing his famous brand.
The busy holiday resort restaurant, between Los Americas and Playa Fanabe, offers full English fry-ups at €2.99 and mixed-meat grills and beers for just €1. The menu includes ‘breakfast plus a drink’ and claims to provide the ‘coldest pint in town’.
Staff at the Puerto Colon cafe claimed ‘We are a franchise of Gordon Ramsay. We pay money for the name. People like coming here – it’s a famous name thing.’
But there seems to be an identity crisis. Ramsay discovered he had his own “Hell’s Kitchen” when diners contacted his company to complain about a 3-course meal which had cost €7.95.
A spokesman for Gordon Ramsay said: ‘We have received numerous complaints about this restaurant. It is in no way associated with us. We are taking immediate steps to ensure it does not continue to infringe our intellectual property rights.’

Went last week to Tenerife and visited the above. Food was abmissal – didn’t even stay for third course. Wine was also dreadful. Lots of people complaining – will not be back
