Lanre Odutayo – “The Wisdom that Wins”
What is Wisdom ?

Lots of answers but maybe the best is ,“Knowing what to do when you don’t know what to do!”
God’s Wisdom is different from human wisdom and people’s ways of doing things. We often ask why?… we don’t need to dwell on why?… God does stuff – just agree with Him and go with Him… he has given us the capacity to believe Him!

Jeremiah 1 v 12 God is ready to perform His Word… we need to speak according to his Word… right things and not the negative, faith destroying things of the enemy.
Proverbs 19 v 22 Life and death are in the power of the tongue.
How, and what, we speak can be life or death – speak life … this is a principle in the Word of God.

1 Corinthians 2: 7-8 The wisdom of God that the devil wasn’t aware of … a crucifixion that brought salvation for the world.
The way God does His things… the devil doesn’t have a road into it… as we speak and live the truths of God, we line up with God’s best for our lives.
The devil doesn’t want God’s positive way for us so he will try and get us into all the negativity he has.

Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 both speak about the origins of Lucifer … he was heaven’s worship leader! – and he lost it!
Now he is always uncomfortable when we decide to give God praise.
What are the consequences of Praise
On the believer?
On Satan?
On God?
It is not optional to praise God – it needs to be a way of Life.Through the tough circumstances of life, God has designed a way of escape – Give Praise and Glory to God!

Romans 4 – Abraham grew strong in faith as he gave glory to God, despite his circumstances not being what God had said would be.
The expression of our faith manifests when we give praise to God, despite the circumstances… finances, children, marriage, sickness – still give him the Glory… we need to DECIDE TO WORSHIP!
When we decide to worship God, it takes the focus off us, off our circumstances and trials, and it creates an environment where God inhabits the praises of his people!
Things change when we live a life of praise! Stop whingeing and moaning!

An attitude of appreciation makes you different!
Praise silences the enemy…
When Saul was under demonic oppression, David’s worship of God drove away the demons.
Psalm 149 and Psalm 34.
The high praises of God’s people puts the enemy to flight…
Psalm 8 v 2 and Matthew 21 v16 Out of the mouths of babes and infants… comes praise – to silence the enemy and the avenger.
Praise releases the blessings of God…Praise Him, just because He is Awesome!
As the Ark of the Covenant was housed in Obed-Edom’s house, then blessing and prosperity came over his household.

Psalm 67 v 5-6 praising God produces increase… as the people praise, increase comes!
Despite all David’s errors… he had a heart of worship to God and he was indeed blessed!
Praise focuses on God and less on our problems.
Praise causes you to stand back and view the scenario better.

Praising God, despite our circumstances is the wisdom that wins!

I thoroughly enjoyed Lanre’s preaching. Was very thought provoking and in summary wisdom for me is:
1, read the word every day,
2, change our thought processes and they will change our choice of words and build people up, rather than destroying them,
3, if you don’t know what to do, praise the LORD anyway.
